We’ll continue in a couple of weeks with our fourth and final music and walking tour, a big one to the north of Scotland, including the islands.
Meantime, I’ll share a few random photos from trips we’ve already covered; there are always pix I can’t fit in…
Here’s Rob Roy MacGregor’s grave, from Balquidder. Legend has it that he was a very big and heavy man, and the pall bearers were so drunk that his body fell out of the casket on the way to the cemetery. They either didn’t notice, or figured that as long as the casket got buried, nobody would know the difference! Old leaning tombstones at right were a few of the interesting sites in the same churchyard.
Not far away was this beautiful scene showing the glens coming together in the distance. On the right is a moor near Loch Ossian.
Couldn’t resist a photo of the classic red phone booth, and on the right is a quirky restaurant in Glasgow that has some great food, tasty even for non-vegans like me! What a great name — the “Glasvegan”!
Finally, a few favorite shots of mine, from near Loch Ness, in Harris, and Glencoe. See you in a couple weeks!
Beautiful! Thanks!
Have enjoyed the photos and narratives. They bring back good memories. See you at camp in a few weeks.
